### The 'ADVANCED' PWM Induction Motor Drive Simulator.

**This is a more advanced version of the Standard PWM Drive Simulator. It is
fully reversing and fully regenerative and the Supply Side can be either a REVERSING
THYRISTOR Convertor or a PULSE WIDTH MODULATED Inverter. In the latter case it can then be
arranged to draw UNITY Power Factor SINUSOIDAL Current from the mains supply network
making it 'The Environmentally Friendly Drive' of the future. SINGLE phase and THREE phase
mains supplies are catered for in this Simulator.**

**In addition the control and analysis of the Drive is more extensive than with
the standard Simulator, for example FIVE different methods of PWM GENERATION are included
for both supply and motor Inverters, and these include Natural Sampling, 2 methods of
Regular Sampling, the 60 degree block/PWM method and the Closed Loop Current Control PWM
method. Waveforms are generated with many more points and harmonics up to 210 times the
base frequency are accurately quantified.**

### The '12 Pulse' PWM Inverter Induction Motor Drive Simulator

**This is another advanced Simulator and it is based on the 'ADVANCED' PWM
Simulator described above. However this Simulator models PWM Drives which have 12 Pulse
supply side Rectifiers/Convertors, it caters for those having two DIODE Rectifier bridges
connected in Series or in Parallel and those with two THYRISTOR convertor bridges
connected in Series or in Parallel. The phase displaced Supply Transformer is also
included in the model. The Simulator gives measurements and waveforms of all the circuit
Currents and Voltages and it allows the Harmonics being generated in all parts of the
circuit to be assessed including the 12 Pulse Supply Current and the mains Voltage
Distortion.**

### The '18 Pulse' PWM Inverter Induction Motor Drive Simulator

**This is another advanced Simulator based on the 'ADVANCED' PWM Simulator
described above. However this Simulator models PWM Drives which have 18 Pulse supply side
Rectifiers/Convertors, it caters for those having three DIODE Rectifier bridges connected
in Series or in Parallel and those with three THYRISTOR convertor bridges connected in
Series or in Parallel. The phase displaced Supply Transformer is also included in the
model. The Simulator gives measurements and waveforms of all the circuit Currents and

described above. However this Simulator models PWM Drives which have 24 Pulse supply side
Rectifiers/Convertors, it caters for those having four DIODE Rectifier bridges connected
in Series or in Parallel and those with four THYRISTOR convertor bridges connected in
Series or in Parallel. The phase displaced Supply Transformer is also included in the
model. The Simulator gives measurements and waveforms of all the circuit Currents and
Voltages and it allows the Harmonics being generated in all parts of the circuit to be
assessed including the 24 Pulse Supply Current and the mains Voltage Distortion.**

## The 'PROFESSIONAL' SIMULATORS.

**These Simulators are used by the designers and makers of Drives to predict the
full performance of Real Drives and to decide on the most technically advanced features.
The Simulators will model many different Circuit Arrangements and they include the
necessary Supply Transformers in the models. Single and Double Motor Windings are included
and SIX pulse and TWELVE pulse systems can be selected. The Simulators contain all the
advanced technical features used by Drive manufacturers, for example to minimise Supply
and Motor Harmonics, to improve Supply Power Factor, to maximise the convertor capability
and to reduce motor Torque Pulsations. These Simulators also have improved Waveform
Generation with more points per waveform and the ability to identify and quantify
Harmonics at up to 90 times the base frequency.**

### The 'Professional' SYNCHRO-CONVERTOR Synchronous Motor Drive.

**This Simulator will model 7 different Circuit Configurations with up to 4
Convertor Bridges with 24 thyristor arms, connected in series or parallel and with one or
two 3 phase motor windings. It allows for Programmed Motor Flux Control and for Input KVAR
Control to improve Supply Power Factor.**

### The 'Professional' CYCLOCONVERTOR Synchronous Motor Drive System.

**This Simulator covers the CycloConvertor SYNCHRONOUS Motor Drive System having
the following features. Six Pulse CycloConvertors with 36 Thyristor Arms and 12 Pulse
CycloConvertors with 72 Thyristor Arms are both allowed for and a total of 7 Circuit
Arrangements can be modelled including separate Cycloconvertor fed motor windings and
series connected convertors feeding a single motor winding. Sinusoidal and Trapesoidal
motor voltage waveforms are possible and special control methods called DC Biasing and 3rd
Harmonic Biasing can be applied to improve performance.**

### The 'Professional' CYCLOCONVERTOR Induction Motor Drive System.

**This Simulator covers the CycloConvertor INDUCTION Motor Drive System and
contains similar features to the above, i.e. Six Pulse CycloConvertors with 36 Thyristor
Arms and 12 Pulse CycloConvertors with 72 Thyristor Arms are both allowed for and a total
of 7 Circuit Arrangements can be modelled including separate Cycloconvertor fed motor
windings and series connected convertors feeding a single motor winding. Sinusoidal and
Trapesoidal motor voltage waveforms are possible and special control methods called DC
Biasing and 3rd Harmonic Biasing can be applied to improve performance.**
